Field & Stream was originally launched as Forest and Stream in 1873 by Charles Hallock of New York City. The magazine became Field & Stream in 1930. Field & Stream is responsible for popularizing canoeing, canoe camping tours and environmentalism. Depending on the season, the magazine focuses on hunting or fishing.
